[World Rabies Day 2025] Dog Health Champion Campaign by DACC and GARC

Are you passionate about protecting dogs and communities from rabies? Want to take action and inspire others to do the same? Then it’s time to become a Dog Health Champion!

The Dog and Cat Coalition (DACC)  is teaming up with GARC (Global Alliance for Rabies Control) to launch the Dog Health Champion campaign to celebrate and support World Rabies Day.

World Rabies Day, celebrated every year on September 28, is a global day of action and awareness for rabies prevention and elimination. While the day is still a few months away, we're giving you a head start so you can make an impact by becoming a certified Dog Health Champion when World Rabies Day arrives!  

This year’s theme, “Act Now: You, Me, Community” reminds us that each of us has a role to play in eliminating rabies and that real change happens when we collectively work together.

This campaign is open to everyone, whether you're a community member, animal lover, advocate, or professional. By becoming a Dog Health Champion, you’ll gain the knowledge to educate others about rabies prevention and raise awareness in your community.

How do I become a Dog Health Champion?

1. Enroll in and complete GARC’s free online courses!

   1. Rabies Educator Certificate (REC): Learn the basics of rabies transmission, prevention, and responsible dog ownership.

   2. Once completed, request access to the Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate (CCC) to learn how to coordinate rabies awareness activities in your community.

2. Receive an email to accept your Dog Health Champion certificate.

3. Take a photo with your Dog Health Champion certificate and use our special frame!

   1. Automatically add your photo to the official frame here.

   2. Or manually add your picture to our frame via a design app like Canva, MS Paint, or Photoshop. Kindly download the frame here.

4. Upload your framed photo of you and your certificate  so that it appears onto GARC’s FORCE Wall - joining hundreds of other Dog Health Champions!

5. Share your framed photo on social media using the hashtags:

   1. #FORCE (if you’ve completed GARC’s course and are now a Dog Health Champion)

   2. #EndRabiesTogether (for anyone supporting the campaign)

6. And don’t forget to post your personal pledge at EndRabiesNow.org!

A live counter on the website displays the number of people making their pledges, so you can see the global movement you're part of in real time!
