AfA urges Cambodian government to end dog meat trade

The dog meat trade continues to thrive in Cambodia, with 3 million dogs being consumed each year, many stolen pets. As in other parts of Asia, this is a contentious issue with the propensity to cause civil disharmony. Furthermore, the manner in which dogs are slaughtered and sold is unhygienic and allows the threat of zoonotic disease outbreaks at such wet-markets to persist
