AfA COALITION WORKING GROUPS
AfA establishes Working Groups whenever there's a need to tackle specific issues. For example, we are the only coalition in the world working on online animal cruelty content, and other working groups involve the AfA Farm Animal Coalition, uniting Asia's farm animal protection movement, or AfA’s Sanctuary and Rescue Center Coalition, helping organizations help wildlife in any capacity.
Any organization interested in the AfA Working Groups’ focus areas is welcome to join forces with us - it's all about coming together to solve key challenges across Asia and to collectively support and build a stronger animal advocacy movement.
Joining our Working Groups is always free, with participation requirements varying for each working group. Organizations may choose to provide financial support to sustain these important initiatives, though such contributions don't alter membership status.
Working groups occasionally form specialized subgroups comprising members with relevant expertise, which may operate temporarily to address specific aspects of the broader focus area.

Demystifying animal advocacy in Asia
The AfA Policy Coalition is a member-driven working group that aims to demystify animal policy advocacy and help advocates at all levels, from local grassroots organizations to large, international NGOs, participate in policy-related work.
Capacity in Animal Protection Coalition (CAPC)
Helping animal protection organizations thrive
CAPC is composed of experienced capacity building experts in Philanthropy, Organizational Development, Monitoring & Evaluating and much more. CAPC coordinators use that huge pool of knowledge and pass it on to the NGOs they serve across Asia, both in close 1-to-1 problem solving sessions, as well as sharing with the whole AfA Network via events and resources.
Joining forces for the dogs and cats of Asia
DACC serves as a centralized space to address dog and cat welfare issues in Asia by bringing together organizations from all levels, grassroots organizations to multinational NGOs, and fostering collaborations to have a wider impact. DACC supports its members through networking opportunities, facilitating regular meetings, events, and developing valuable resources.
Social Media Animal Cruelty Coalition (SMACC)
Ending online animal cruelty content
SMACC tackles online cruelty content, which shows animals exploited and abused, both physically and mentally, for entertainment, by raising public awareness, carrying out research, and by working with social media companies to push them to change their policies and improve moderation systems.
Building bridges for Asia's most exploited and abused primates
Did you know that some macaques are some of the most heavily persecuted primates on earth?
MACC brings advocates concerned about any aspect of macaque welfare together, makes the connections they need with each other and with primatologists, conservationists and others, to work effectively on macaque issues wherever they occur.
Sanctuaries and Rescue Centers Coalition (SARCC)
Helping organizations help wildlife
SARCC engages with sanctuaries, rescue centers and associated support groups across Asia and helps them through their challenges, successes, knowledge and resource gaps through events, resources sharing and creation, subgroups and collaborations.
Uniting Asia's farm animal protection movement
FAC focuses on farm animal issues in Asia and the promotion of alternative protein sources; runs subgroups that focus on policy, corporate engagement and alternative protein and organizes Asia Farm Animal Day, an annual event held each October to discuss issues, strategies and solutions.
Disaster Resilience Coalition (DRC)
From vulnerable to resilient: transform your organization
DRC aims for animal protection organizations in Asia to have the agency and ability to withstand and cope with the impacts of disasters with little disruption to their operation, and be able to help their communities recover quickly and equitably.
