Capacity in Animal Protection Coalition (CAPC)
Helping animal protection organizations thrive
CAPC is currently dormant while we seek funding to restart our work empowering animal protection organizations across Asia.
The Capacity in Animal Protection Coalition (CAPC) is a knowledge-sharing coalition dedicated to strengthening animal protection organizations (APOs) in Asia. Established in May 2023, CAPC has been designed to facilitate resource exchange and expert guidance to help APOs grow their work, and to make it more effective and future-proof.
Committed to empowering Asian NGOs to drive transformative change for animals, since it's inception CAPC has:
-
Leveraged research and expertise from across Asia's animal protection movement to strengthen the capacity of APOs.
-
Supported APOs in maximizing their impact for animals, particularly in farmed animal welfare and diet change advocacy.
-
Shared valuable insights and services across the AfA Network.
Funding subgroup
To tackle the persistent funding challenges faced by farm animal protection organizations in Asia, CAPC launched its first subgroup in late 2024. Based on insights from The Capacity and Funding Landscape of the Asian Farm Animal Protection Movement, this subgroup worked as a collaborative platform for exchanging knowledge, exploring funding solutions, and strengthening financial sustainability across the region.
CAPC Success Stories
Since its inception, CAPC has supported animal protection organizations (APOs) in nine countries across Asia, helping them strengthen their strategies, overcome capacity challenges, and expand their impact.

CAPC Testimonials
Areas of Work
CAPC works on a guided one-to-one support model, providing tailored assistance to animal protection organizations (APOs) across Asia. In the past, CAPC has helped organizations develop effective strategies, strengthen their websites and branding, access knowledge, and critical resources and tools such as our budget and finance toolkit, enabling them to overcome capacity challenges and maximize their impact for animals. Through this approach, we have enhanced the effectiveness and sustainability of many organizations working to advance farmed animal welfare and promote diet change across the region.
One-to-One Capacity Support
Before launching CAPC, we conducted in-depth research, including a survey of numerous AfA Network member organizations, to identify the most pressing capacity-building needs, challenges in addressing them, and existing gaps. This research revealed key barriers limiting the growth and impact of animal protection organizations (APOs) in Asia, shaping CAPC’s approach to delivering targeted support and sustainable solutions.
