Welcome Message
We extend our warmest welcome to all distinguished guests and participants from around the world attending the Asia for Animals Conference in Taipei. The Ministry of Agriculture, Taiwan, is honored to support this significant international gathering that brings together experts, scholars, and practitioners to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and forge a more progressive future for animal protection.
Taiwan has long been dedicated to promoting animal protection policies and developing regulatory frameworks, including: strengthening animal protection legislation; promoting responsible pet ownership and humane practices across industries; restoring wildlife habitats and intensifying efforts to combat illegal capture, trade, and trafficking; implementing the 3R principles (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) along with education, training, and inspections to safeguard the welfare of laboratory animals; establishing guidelines for the humane rearing and slaughter of farm animals, as well as an animal welfare labeling system to encourage ethical farming and sustainable consumption; and enhancing humane fishing practices and responsible aquaculture.
We firmly believe that every life deserves respect and compassionate treatment. Through this conference, we look forward to deepening international cooperation, sharing Taiwan’s experiences, and learning from the innovative efforts of others to elevate animal welfare across Asia and beyond.
We sincerely thank each participant for your passion and dedication. Together, let us raise our voices for animal welfare and strive toward a kinder, more sustainable future.
Sincerely,
Ministry of Agriculture, Taiwan
