During a disaster
Who do you go to first?
ABOUT THE EVENT
DRC Regional Nepal - September 23-24, 2026
Under the theme Strengthening Disaster Preparedness through Local Partnership, this gathering invites animal protection groups, government officials, humanitarian teams, and national networks in Nepal to meet in person, two days in Kathmandu, and discuss collaboration and coordination in disaster management that includes the most vulnerable groups in a community. We are here to bridge the disconnect between local reality and national policy, ensuring that the movement for animal-inclusive disaster management moves from the margins to the center.
By Invitation Only
This in-person event is designed for local stakeholder groups within Nepal to strengthen existing capacity for animals in emergencies. If you represent an animal protection organization in Nepal or work closely with a local partner on animal-inclusive disaster management, please get in touch with us!

Before disasters strike
Do you know your risks?
ABOUT THE EVENT
Disasters affect everyone, and grassroots Animal Protection Organizations (APOs) are subject to some unique challenges, especially when risks remain unseen or poorly understood.
First-ever event organized by AfA's Disaster Resilience Coalition (DRC) - the DRC Online Summit 2026 brings together APOs across Asia to better understand disaster risk as the foundation of organizational resilience. Through the sharing of real-world stories, learning the fundamentals of risk assessment, and dialogues on complex risk interpreted by disaster responders working in different sectors, the Summit aims to provide the building blocks for understanding the apparent risks and revealing the "unseen" risks - and help kickstart the first steps towards stronger disaster resilience.
